Life
It's a little stuffy: but here's my Bio from work that gives you a brief snapshot of what I've been up to. Wow -- and I haven't updated this forever.
Dr. Joseph M. Nicholson III is the SVP & National Medical Director supporting the business development and contracting team for Cancer Treatment Centers of America. Before coming to CTCA, Dr. Nicholson was the VP of Healthcare Management and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma. Prior to taking on the role as CMO, he served several years as the Utilization Management Medical Director at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma. Nicholson graduated from the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Oklahoma State University. He completed his internship at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Denver and shortly therafter was appointed as Chief of Emergency Medicine at General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital. Dr. Nicholson later served as Chief Resident at Oklahoma University College of Medicine-Tulsa. After that Dr. Nicholson began a private practice career that spanned a decade prior to entering administrative medicine. in private practice Dr. Nicholson developed and instituted a fast track appointment schedule inspired by his military and corporate experience. This concept was so successful that it was incorporated group wide. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at OU College of Medicine, and continues to teach there on occasion. Last, but not least, he is a highly decorated military officer, serving as both a Combat Engineer Officer from 1981-1986 with missions in Panama and Honduras, and as a Medical Officer from 1990-1993, during the Gulf War.
